A Guide to Brewing the Perfect Cup of Tea

Brewing great tea is about more than simply adding hot water. The water temperature, amount of tea leaves, and steeping time can all influence the flavour of your cup.

For Oolong and aged teas, water around 95°C is ideal. Start with a shorter first infusion and gradually adjust the steeping time with each subsequent brew. Black Tea and Queen’s Tea generally prefer slightly cooler water, around 85–90°C, allowing their delicate aromas and flavours to develop without becoming overly strong.

The best part of whole-leaf tea is that you can enjoy several infusions from the same leaves. Take your time, experiment with the brewing process, and discover the flavour profile that suits your palate.
